So join our French group classes and give yourself a real chance of learning French properly!
With our experienced teachers Louise, Gabrielle and Szymon and their support, you’ll learn how to communicate in real everyday situations in French, and you’ll see your progress day by day. Ready to take the first step?
You’ll join a small group of students (6 people max). You can decide to have the group class online or in person in Edinburgh or Dundee.

BEGINNER GROUP CLASS: Level 0
Level 0: Designed for new French learners or in constructing basic sentences, even after using tools like Duolingo for several months.
This course is designed to prepare beginners to travel to France and have real conversations with French people.

Over the 7 weeks, you’ll learn to:
Introduce yourself
Use essential verbs
Ask questions
Express likes and dislikes
Make well-structured sentences
Order food and drinks

Location: We’ll meet in the famous La Barantine Bruntsfield, a French bakery & coffee shop booked just for us, oui oui! (202 Bruntsfield Pl, Edinburgh EH10 4DF).
BEGINNER GROUP CLASS: Level 1
Level 1 – Emerging Beginner: Tailored for students who are beginning to feel confident in forming questions and responses in French, and are proficient with fundamental present tense verbs (I want, I can, I like etc).
📆 Calendar:
IN-PERSON: NEW – From the 27th of November, you’ll have an hour class every Wednesday at 6:15 pm for 8 weeks until the 29th of January (plus 2 weeks OFF for Christmas and New Year’s Eve). If you miss a class, you’ll still get the material and some explanations from me so then no excuse to keep practising your French every week!
The next courses in La Barantine will start in January – the registration will open in December.

BEGINNER GROUP CLASS: Level 2
Level 2 – Progressing Beginner: Designed for students who have learnt French for a few months and feel comfortable to have a limited conversation using present tense and future with aller: “Qu’est ce que tu vas faire aujourd’hui ? Je vais voir mes amis, nous allons anger…”. They start to understand a bit more French speakers when they speak at their own pace. You already learnt past tense (je suis allé, j’ai fait, j’ai mangé…)
This course is designed to prepare beginners to have real conversations with French people.

IMPROVERS GROUP CLASS: A2/B1
This course is designed for improvers students (A2) who want to feel more comfortable and confident in French. Over the course, we’ll focus on practical French concepts you can use immediately. The class is mainly discussion-oriented in French.
📆 Calendar: IN-PERSON: NEW – From the 27th of November, you’ll have an hour class every Wednesday at 7:30 pm for 8 weeks until the 29th of January (plus 2 weeks OFF for Christmas and New Year’s Eve).

INTERMEDIATE GROUP CLASS: B2 and +
This course is specially designed for intermediate students (B2) aiming to feel more comfortable and confident in French.
7-week COURSE in November:
The main goal is to help you become more at ease with speaking French, which can often be the trickiest part of language learning. Join us in a relaxed and stress-free environment where we’ll work together to improve your conversational skills. The class is fully in French.
Over those 7 weeks, we’ll focus on practical French concepts that you can use right away with always aim to discuss in French

Our French Course
Life is too short to learn French with a method that makes you yawn! We are always trying to keep the class entertaining and fun.
🗣 You’ll be learning from a native French Speaker, so you’ll experience how French is truly spoken—not from an app or a textbook. A quick heads-up: you won’t be learning the typical phrases like “Parlez-vous français ?” or “Voulez-vous visiter le musée ?” because that’s not how we really talk. But don’t worry, I’ll explain all that during the course and help you sound like a real French speaker!
Every class includes homework and different types of exercises to help you keep a good routine outside of the class. You’ll get all the materials seen before/after each class, meaning you don’t need to buy a book.
Are you going to miss one class? Don’t worry you’ll still get the material, the replay and some explanations so then no excuse to keep practising your French every week! 🗣️
