French Retreats in 2026
You’ll have two weeks available! It depends on your level, time and availability, pick the one that suits you best.
Date: From the 20th to the 27th May, we will be in Hyères in the South of France. It is Gabrielle’s hometown, so you can expect authentic experiences and a real local touch.
Level: This week is only for students who are already at a A2/B1+ level (level 3 in our classes). You shouldn’t be scared to speak French and feel able to spend a week fully in French!
Price: £2100 including accommodation, activities, two meals a day and classes.
Date: Our September week (date to be confirmed with flights) will take place on the beautiful West Coast of France near Royan. It is an area Louise knows extremely well because she has spent all her holidays there.
Level: This week is more gentle and is available for everyone from a level A1+. You need to feel ready with the idea that we will speak only in French to you, but of course, taking it gently, depending on your level. Intermediates are always welcome here, as we’ll be in two different houses!
Price: £1950 including accommodation, activities, two meals a day and classes.
A wee note about levels
More than a specific level of French, what really matters to us is your attitude. We’re looking for students who are ready to step a little outside their comfort zone: to have a go, to try, to speak up and to live the experience. In short, to make the most of every opportunity to practise. Whether it’s with other students in the house while sharing everyday tasks, with your teachers, or with the locals you’ll meet throughout your stay, every moment becomes a chance to progress. Your French doesn’t have to be perfect, far from it. What we really ask is that you’re willing to play the game and fully engage, so you get the most out of this immersive experience. Not sure if this is right for you? How about organising a wee call so we can chat it through together?
Glimpse from last year!
Seven students joined us for a week on the West Coast of France in early September 2025. Have a wee look!
A home
away from home
We will stay in welcoming shared houses that encourage real conversations from morning to night. You will have your own private room and share the house with fellow learners, which creates a friendly atmosphere where French becomes part of your daily life.
Every house is close to the sea. You can walk to the beach, enjoy the garden, and feel at home from the first day.
Breakfast and lunch are included and prepared with care. Food is a big part of French life, and sharing meals together helps you practise without even noticing.
What Your Immersive Week
Includes
🏠 Comfortable Private Accommodation
Seven nights in a peaceful and charming house near the sea. Private room, shared bathrooms and garden, and a warm, relaxed atmosphere.
🧠 Daily French Classes
More than two hours of classes each day for a total of about fifteen hours. Classes will be taught in two small groups so you can learn at your own pace. Gabrielle and I will alternate groups, giving you the chance to hear two different voices.
🗣 Natural Conversation All Day Long
More than twenty-five hours of French practice through meals, activities, and daily chats with teachers and locals. You will hear different accents and gain confidence with authentic French in real-life situations.
🍷Cultural Activities
Depending on the week, activities may include vineyard visits, boat tours, French markets, bike rides, scenic walks, village tours, and more. Every day, an activity will be organised to help you discover the region and speak French in different situations.
🍽 Food and Local Experiences
Delicious breakfasts and lunches, all shared with the group. One dinner at a local restaurant is included as well. Food brings people together and creates better conversation.
😉 A Small and Friendly Group
Each week is limited to a small number of students to keep the atmosphere warm and personal (max 7/8 students). In some cases, we may use two houses located one minute from each other.
Meet your Teachers
"During the stay, Gabrielle and I will only speak French. This is a big part of the immersion and we want you to be ready for it! Some days you will feel amazing some days your brain might say non merci, and that is perfectly normal. But don't worry, we'll be here to help! In class depending on your level we may switch to English from time to time so do not worry you will never be lost! Just immersed. Louise
Testimonials from students
I had an amazing week. The activities were so much fun and really thoughtful, from cooking classes to yoga on the beach! The best part was experiencing France not like a tourist, but truly living like a local. By the end of the week, I felt so much more confident speaking French and using it in real life.
Olga - Intermediate
The mix of lessons and activities helped me make real progress. Shared meals, the lighthouse visit, exploring this new region for me. I really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere in the house and practising French with the group. By the end of the week, I felt so much more confident that I even stayed extra days travelling on my own.
John - Advanced
This immersive week was fantastic. The mix of lessons and activities meant I could learn French and then practise it straight away in conversation. I loved the shared lunches and spontaneous chats around the house. It felt like living in France, not just visiting. The teachers were supportive, encouraging, and made everything fun. I can’t recommend it enough!

Let's answer all your questions
Happy to help with some of your main questions!
Who are these immersive weeks for?
These weeks are perfect for adults who want to learn French the natural way: through real conversations, real experiences, and lots of speaking.
You don’t need perfect French at all! You just need to be happy to play the game: trying to use French with the group as much as possible. In our most recent week, students even kept speaking French together when we weren’t there!
How many students are in each group?
We keep groups very small, because quality matters to us, no more than 8!
This means you get lots of attention, correction and speaking time.
Occasionally, if the group is a little larger, we split into two houses located only a few steps apart, so the atmosphere stays cosy.
Will we really speak French all day?
Mostly, oui, yes, but don’t worry!
The atmosphere is warm, supportive and never intimidating. With Gabrielle, we’ll adapt to your level. You’ll quickly realise how fun and energising it is to live your day in French. It’s the fastest and most confidence-building way to improve.
How intense are the lessons?
You’ll have around two hours of structured lessons per day, plus many hours of natural conversation during activities, meals, and time together.
Do I need to be outgoing?
